Are you tired of spending your time at home in sweatpants? We get it. No matter how cute your pajamas or loungewear sets are, you sometimes want to get a bit more dressed. The good news is there are plenty of comfortable but stylish pieces that can double as loungewear when you want to feel extra cute.
A Nightdress or a Slip dress.
These dresses were initially meant to be worn as pajamas, so they very much count as loungewear. Call it fashion's most versatile clothing. You can comfortably lounge around in it all day long, then add some makeup and heels for a night out, and it will still be appropriate. While at home you can wear it on its own or warm up with a cardigan.
A jumpsuit or romper.
Hear us out. We don't mean dramatic chiffon or crepe numbers unless you feel like it, of course! A simple jumpsuit made of a soft, cozy fabric like cotton or viscose works perfectly well. Go for looser styles for maximum comfort. It will make you feel glamorous without going over the top.
A midi dress.
Again, we mean clean, basic styles. The kind that looks like an extended version of a tank top or t-shirt. Dresses have a reputation for being quite formal, but they can be incredibly comfortable. Who doesn't like complete freedom of movement for their legs?
Step aside, leggings. Your funkier cousins have entered the chat. Flares are just as comfortable, if not more, because of their soft fabric and roominess from the knee down. Plus, they look dressier than regular leggings. Pair them with your favorite t-shirts and sweatshirts for a fresh twist on your usual sweats.
Soft Wide Leg Trousers.
Swap out your sweats for something that feels equally cozy but looks more refined. You can find these kinds of trousers in all sorts of fabrics: cashmere, a ribbed knit, viscose, or Tencel for warmer days. If you wear them with a sweater, it will look like a real going out OOTD!
Fuzzy socks are great, but they scream dressing down. Fuzzy slide slippers, on the other hand, provide your feet with incredible softness while giving a street style element to your look. Maybe it's the open toes that give the illusion of outdoor sandals?
You can always rely on jewelry to feel more elegant. Large statement pieces might not be super comfortable for chilling at home, but light and simple items like pendants and stud earrings are the perfect upgrades to whatever loungewear you choose.
These are all pieces that you'll want to wear out just as much as you'll want to wear in. And the best part is you can do both without sacrificing style or comfort!
